[더튠 THE TUNE_Live 2021] 북청, 춤추는 사자_Bukcheong, Dancing lion

“달빛이 세상에 그득히 차는 밤, 그들만의 춤사위가 시작된다”

함경남도 북청 지역에서 정월대보름에 행해지던 ‘북청사자놀음’의 퉁소가락이 모티브가 되었다.

마을의 액운을 물리치는 강한 벽사의식을 담은 본래의 북청사자놀음에서 특유의 이국적인 애잔함을 부각시켰다.

느린 굿거리에는 퉁소를, 자진모리와 빠른 굿거리, 늦은 타령 부분은 피리와 태평소를 배치해 북청 지방 특유의 익살과 애잔한 선율이 대비되는 퉁소가락의 묘미를 극대화 하였다.

“When the moonlight illuminates a night, they begin their own dance.”

This song is inspired by melody of the tunso in the ‘Bukcheong Saja Noreum(Lion Play)’ on the first full moon day of the lunar year in the Bukcheong area of South Hamgyeong Province. Its plaintive and exotic sound stands out, because Bukcheong Saja Noreum is actually an exorcism rite to eliminate evil spirits. The tunso plays the slow gutgeori rhythm and Piri & Taepyeongso play the jajinmori, fast gutgeori rhythm and slow taryeong rhythm to maximize the sorrowful melody of the tunso that is quite a contrast to the distinct humor style of Bukcheong area.
