“제주바다의 숨비소리는 초원의 휘파람이 되고”

제주의 풍광과 삶을 노래한 민요 ‘오돌또기’에 아프리카의 마림바 사운드를 더해 이국적인 색채를 입힌 곡이다.

자유롭게 부를 수 있는 메기는 소리 부분에 아프리카풍 스캣을 넣어 푸른 제주와 아프리카 초원이 오버랩 되도록 함으로써 한 곡안에 서로 다른 시공간이 공존하게 한다. 초반에 나오는 바디퍼커션 소리, 즉흥적이고 자유로운 *'메기는 소리'와 규칙적인 *'받는 소리'는 경쾌한 음악적 대비를 만든다.

“Breath sounds of the sea in Jeju become a whistle of the grassland.”

It is a song with exotic colors by adding African marimba sound to the folk song “Odoltogi” that sang the landscape and life of Jeju.

And I put African-style scats in the freely singing * calling melody. As a result, the green Jeju and the African grasslands overlap, allowing different space and time to coexist in one song.The early body percussion sounds, improvised and free *calling melodies and regular *responsorial sounds create a cheerful musical contrast.

(*The call & responsorial form is one of the representative characters of Korean folk song.)
